About The Porsche Cayenne Electric
The original Cayenne was a game changer for Porsche, a massive commercial success that paved the way for an expanded lineup and more capability from a brand that was already famous for performance. Today, the Cayenne Electric is here to continue that push forward for Porsche. From an incredibly powerful drivetrain to cutting-edge chassis technology, to charging technology that is the first of its kind, the Cayenne Electric shows just how important it is to Porsche to be groundbreaking. It’s not just the impressive technology either; the Cayenne Electric is also comfortable, easy to drive – with a spacious interior and lots of cargo space. And it wouldn’t be a Porsche vehicle without the brilliant handling you’ve come to expect from a Porsche.
What the Critics Say
“The Cayenne also inherits the excellent Active Ride system from the Taycan and Panamera, and the body control and ability to soak up bad roads are just as magical in the Cayenne as in the lower-riding Porsches.” – Car & Driver
“The Turbo turns Spain’s narrow rollercoaster roads into honest rollercoaster thrills. All four tires scramble for traction as you unwind the steering wheel from a 30-mph hairpin and boot the accelerator. The 5,850-pound big dog charges hard enough out of corners that it’s easy to scare yourself.” – MotorTrend
Porsche Cayenne Electric Features

Groundbreaking Drivetrain
The Cayenne Electric is not Porsche’s first electric vehicle, but it is nonetheless a big leap forward for the entire industry. The Cayenne Electric comes with such firsts as wireless charging, with an available wireless charging plate that you can have installed in your garage. It also charges on a DC fast charger at a rate of up to 400 kW. For reference, the second-fastest-charging EV in the world maxes out at 350 kW. That allows for DC fast charging from 10 to 80 percent in just 16 minutes, about half the time of most of the Cayenne Electric’s competitors. The drivetrain in the Cayenne Electric is a dual motor setup that produces 435 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough for a 4.5-second 0-60 time, just a tenth of a second slower than the quickest non-electrified Cayenne, the GTS. Move up to the Cayenne Turbo Electric, and you get 1,139 horsepower and 1,106 lb-ft of torque, with a 0-60 time of just 2.4 seconds.

Luxury Interior
What makes the Cayenne Electric truly remarkable is that all of that power and performance don’t come at the expense of interior comfort. Porsche is a brand built on constant innovation and improvement, and that applies just as much to things like seats as it does to suspension and drivetrain technology. Porsche even introduced a new kind of infotainment touchscreen, which is bent at an angle to fit flush with the dash without sacrificing useful screen real estate. This allows the screen to blend in better and not make itself the focus of the interior. It’s this kind of attention to detail, and expert innovation in service of it, that makes the Cayenne Electric as comfortable as it is quick. The Cayenne Electric is offered with all of the customization options you’ve come to expect from Porsche, from climate and high-end audio options to being able to choose the color of your seat belts.

Cutting-Edge Technology
The drivetrain in the Cayenne Electric is at the absolute cutting edge of EV technology. We’ve already mentioned the incredible power and advanced charging, but Porsche didn’t stop there. The rear motor in the Turbo has direct oil cooling, another EV first for the Cayenne Electric, which eliminates the need for a two-speed rear axle transmission in order to hit top speed. And the drivetrain isn’t the only advanced thing; the standard adaptive air suspension provides a supremely comfortable ride while still keeping body roll firmly under control. There is also Porsche Active Ride, an available active chassis control system that allows for a level of handling that was previously impossible. Even the headlights, which are HD-Matrix Design LEDs, are incredibly advanced and help you enjoy an even more rewarding driving experience.
